Maersk introduces new port security surcharge for US and Canada exports

Maersk will introduce a new Port Security Service Export surcharge for cargo originating from the United States and Canada. The new charge will take effect on 1 October 2026 . According to Maersk, it will recover terminal-related security costs associated with export cargo. Different charges for US and Canada exports The surcharge will vary depending on the country of origin. For cargo loaded in the United States , Maersk will charge US$15 per container .
