Maersk appoints Bruno Plantaz as Global Head of Solutions

A. P. Moller – Maersk has appointed Bruno Plantaz as its new Global Head of Solutions and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Plantaz will take up the role on 1 November 2026 . He will succeed Narin Phol, who will leave Maersk at the end of September.

Hapag-Lloyd updates dangerous goods surcharge to Jeddah

Hapag-Lloyd will update its Dangerous Goods Premium (DGP) for shipments from Europe to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The updated surcharge will take effect on 1 September 2026 and will remain in place until further notice. DGP set at US$1,000 per container The surcharge applies to cargo moving from North Europe and the Mediterranean Sea to Jeddah . Hapag-Lloyd will charge US$1,000 per container for all container types carrying dangerous goods. However, cargo classified under Dangerous Goods Classes 1 and 7 is excluded from the DGP.

Latest CDL truck crackdowns find impaired drivers, unsafe equipment, false logs

Commercial vehicle enforcement operations across the U. S. and Canada recently resulted in dozens of trucks and drivers being placed out of service, along with citations for violations ranging from unsafe brakes and false logs to impaired driving, speeding and unsecured cargo. Recent enforcement actions in Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Ontario and British Columbia highlight increased roadside scrutiny of commercial vehicles and drivers. New Mexico operation puts 27 trucks, drivers out of service New Mexico State Police recently conducted a commercial vehicle enforcement operation in the Taos area, where Strike Team officers and transportation inspectors performed saturation patrols and established a temporary inspection site along rural state roads.
