UAE halts all trade and financial transactions with Iran

The United Arab Emirates has halted all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice . The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) announced the decision amid escalating regional tensions. The move comes only days after the UAE accused Iran of attacking vessels linked to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in the Strait of Hormuz. UAE cites regional escalation Afra Al Hameli, Director of the Strategic Communications Department at MoFA, announced the suspension while addressing the status of economic relations between the UAE and Iran. Al Hameli reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to dialogue, cooperation and regional integration.
