The Comac C919 will fly from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, although experts say it could take generations for it to challenge the west’s dominance of the industry China hopes to break into the world of commercial aviation with the first international flight of a Chinese-made passenger jet scheduled for Wednesday. The Comac C919 will take off from Beijing capital international airport at 3pm, landing in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, just over two hours later.

CMA CGM updates peak season surcharges on Red Sea and South Africa trades

CMA CGM has announced changes to its Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on shipments from North Europe to the Red Sea and from Asia to South Africa and Mauritius. The French carrier will apply a downward adjustment to its PSS from North Europe to the Red Sea from 1 September 2026. At the same time, CMA CGM will introduce a PSS of US$100 per TEU from Asia to South Africa and Mauritius from 20 August. North Europe to Red Sea PSS set at US$500 From 1 September 2026, based on the loading date, CMA CGM will apply a PSS of US$500 per container on shipments from North Europe to the Red Sea. The surcharge applies to all cargo except out-of-gauge (OOG) shipments.
