Maersk strengthens Morocco logistics with Tangier-Casablanca rail service

Maersk is strengthening its logistics network in Morocco with a rail service connecting Tangier and Casablanca , offering an alternative route for cargo moving into the country’s main commercial and industrial hub. The rail service is already operational, with regular departures between the two locations. Maersk said the solution combines Tangier’s global maritime connectivity with Casablanca’s position as a major centre for Moroccan trade. Rail link targets congestion and reliability Casablanca remains one of Africa’s busiest maritime hubs. The port handled 17 million tonnes of cargo during the first half of 2026 .
