Maersk introduces reefer inland surcharge at Port of Algeciras

Maersk will introduce an Inland Peak Season Surcharge (IPI) for import reefer container haulage within the Port of Algeciras amid increased congestion during the citrus season. According to the carrier, storage facilities within the Spanish port are experiencing exceptionally high occupancy levels as activity increases. The situation is causing longer waiting times for warehouse loading and unloading operations and affecting the efficiency of inland transportation services. EUR 65 surcharge for import reefers Maersk will introduce a surcharge of EUR 65 per container for affected import reefer movements. The surcharge will apply to: Direct deliveries to warehouses located within the Port of Algeciras.
