Maersk introduces new pick-up fee for Riga export shipments

Maersk will introduce a new Pick-Up Fee for export shipments involving empty container collection in Riga, Latvia . The fee applies when customers pick up an empty container in Riga and later export it through a port outside Latvia. New charges for Riga container pick-ups Maersk will apply the following charges: Container type Pick-Up Fee 20′ dry container EUR 250 40′ high cube EUR 500 The fee will be applied automatically when both conditions are met. First, the empty container must be picked up in Riga. Second, the shipment’s Port of Loading (POL) must be located outside Latvia.
