6 arrested as UK police target cargo theft costing $88M a year

Police arrested six people in Leeds, United Kingdom, on Tuesday during a national cargo theft investigation. Officers targeted addresses across the Belle Isle and Kirkstall areas. The inquiry concerns a large stock consignment taken from a heavy goods vehicle. Investigators also recovered suspected stolen merchandise, controlled drugs and several weapons. The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organized Crime Unit led the morning raids.
